Today's market challenges call for managers who are both tough minded and open minded, creative yet disciplined in devising strategies to retain and gain audiences and position their companies for continued success.
The Maynard Institute Digital Leadership program will give participants a deeper understanding of the dynamic media landscape, trends in consumer's consumption of news, information and entertainment, and the tools to create successful new media models as the digital landscape grows.
The program is intended for managers who participate in innovation of new business models, the development of new products or the redesign of existing products. Participants can range from front line managers to ultimate decision makers across a media organization.
The program will examine external factors affecting media. These include:
- Developing new business models and strategies to succeed in today's media environment
- Turning market research / data into actionable information
- Restructuring an organization around market needs and scalability
- Redefining the organizational skill sets necessary to implement strategic intentions
Participants will then examine internal factors that influence the success or failure of any strategy. These include:
- Identifying, assessing and managing risk
- Leading and managing transformational change
- Understanding, developing and supporting an agile, innovative culture
- Negotiating for effective outcomes across the enterprise
- Communicating to enlighten, engage and inspire
- Developing people to work outside traditional organizational boundaries

BLACK HISTORY MONTH
The Maynard Institute gears up for its coming celebration of Black History Month
Based on the late Robert C. Maynard's belief that the five fault lines of race, class, gender, generation and geography are the most enduring forces shaping lives, experiences and social tensions in this country, the Maynard Institute's Fault Lines framework helps journalists build a more diverse source list, have more voices in stories and determine which fault lines are at work in complex issues.
